A few wackos are attacking innocents. How exactly does that equate to
"Normal in Islamic based societies is brothers killing brothers"? You
need to learn to think critically, and not tar an entire society by the
actions of a few.

You cited half a million Iraqui dead.

How many were killed by the west, and how many by
your terribly mischaracterized "a few wackos?"

Those wackos wouldn't be there if we hadn't invaded. Here's a clue: they
*weren't* there before we invaded.
1) They are all Muslims. AFAIC, they represent a singular
entity

2) Where were they before, destined to do terror attacks
on the US mainland?

3) Part of the Iraqi action is to create a honey pot. It has
been working. Those wackos would be killing someone somewhere.
It might as well be someone other than us.

Might as well get used to Machevellian logic, there's
plenty coming at us down the pipe.

I should clarify, I have no major issue with which religion the PM chooses
to follow.

There is an issue with a countries leader who follows a dogmatic faith that
(dont forget this is really IMHO and possibly the result of advancing age)
requires obedience to a non-public entity.

There is a reasonable possibility that "offend" was an excessive word to
have used, but what ever word it would have been the same if he was Islamic,
Hindu, Jane etc.

Using a simplist and far from real example: if there was a situation where
the interests of the people conflicted with the interests of God/the Pope,
where would the PM stand? If it was with the people, his faith is a lie and
he shouldn't be trusted. If it is with God/Pope then he is not doing his job
as PM and shouldn't be trusted.

and there are (currently) significant checks and balances to prevent a
religious upsurge.

Used to be here, too. W has been slowly dismantling those, all on the
basis of unfounded fear.
The same is starting to happen in the UK. Slowly legislation is passed,
which appears reasonable but allows for unreasonable things. We currently
have a government that I actually, largely, support and things are going
well so people don't seem to mind being monitored and tracked everywhere
(legislation for black boxes in cars is looming). What happens in X years
when not-so-nice government gets in?

I don't know it's wrong. I do know enough that bad data will
never show any statistical significance.

Don't you think *they* are in a better position to judge the quality of
their data than *you* are, since your understanding of statistics is
essentially non-existent? And don't you think that the peers who reviewed
the article and allowed it to be published might also be just a tiny tad
more knowledgeable of statistics than you are?
When BAH posted this, it struck me as a massive example of how really closed
minded some people can be. She hasn't read the data, she has no idea about
the methods, she doesn't know who reviewed it (etc), yet she does know that
bad data will spoil stats (which is true). She has taken the one thing she
does know and assumed it to be the case because the answer is not one she
wants.

Amazing that BAH claims to have any scientific background at all.

Certainly the mention of mechanical advantage, momentum, friction,
