Hello All,
I picked up a cheap VCR for $10, supposed to be in
good working condition. Heh heh heh.....
Akai model number VS-G405EA
The unit plays tapes OK
Will record OK
For ten dollars it is great but it has a little problem.
I can press the channel up/down buttons and receive
channels 7, 9, 10 and SBS but CH 2 is missing.
Murphy's law here. I am an ABC fan.
There is also an annoying line of blinking bars at the top left
of the TV picture, possibly for setting the date on the VCR.
I would like to get rid of these also.
Unfortunately the VCR did not come with a remote control
unit and I think the remote control may be necessary to
program in CH 2 . If that is the case I can put up with it.
Should anyone know of a way to press the buttons on
the VCR or fiddle the insides of the machine to recieve
CH 2 , or get rid of the flashing bars on the TV screen that
would be nice.
New remotes are not availble for this old model, I was told.
Anyone have a shoebox full of old remotes?
This is all a long shot I know, but I had to ask.
Regards,
