It is not the government which is the problem.

A majority of the people are creationists, many of them fanatically
convinced that we should live in a theocracy.

So the government has to pretend to support the creationists, but are
secretly doing what they can do undermine these old ideologies from the
stone age.

The creationist system is built upon violence, fear, gender roles,
mobbing, the eternal love, the holy matrimony, male honor, the holy
spirit based on the holy wrath. This is a concrete and real social
system, based on these old traditions, which rules the world.

Progressive governments try to decrease the influence of creationism on
laws and official ideologies, and try to secularize the society.

What a progressive leader can do is to pretend to represent the
reactionary idiots, and lead them into catastrophy after catastrophy,
wearing out their beliefs, forcing them to start thinking, and to start
voting for more modern democratic alternatives.

Stupid reactionary leaders, like the pope, do nothing to change the
minds and lifestyle of their believers, they just uphold the old order.

No, I voted for an alternative to the TAX and SPEND DemonRats.

A government promising "Smaller government", Tax reductions, and
spending cuts. Anything else constitutes a Fraud!

Have we learned nothing From Plato, Aristotle,

Must we be burdened by ignorance and superstition forever?
Can this be the ultimate cause of the failure of the Human
condition?

I'm not so sure this is accurate. Bush is "born again". He got the news
from Billy Graham himself, after a drunken party in Kennybunkport. He
holds prayer meetings in the whitehouse, and they are pretty much
manditory. He owes both elections to the christian right. He asks God
for advice on going to war before he asks his Father, who actually ran a
war in the mideast (I guess God has run several of those too, if you
count the crusades.)

Both Delay and Frist are heros to the Christian Coalition. These are the
leaders of the House and Senate, respectively. Here is an audiotape of
them bending over for the christian coalition:

Old traditions, social processes, have very strong conservative
mechanisms to protect the system, to persecute and harass critics and
uphold the fear of God in people.

If their old ideologies are being torn down, by science and rational
arguments, they simply invent new ideologies to justify their
lifestyle and all the violence needed to uphold it.

The only reasonable alternative to theocratic dictatorship is democracy.

But maybe you are thinking about the false democracy, politics hijacked
by corporate interests.

Yes, but he is faking it, and he is not leading his believers towards a
victory.

The american economy is suffering from a trade war called free markets,
which the american government started.
Investment capital is flowing from USA to other parts of the world.
It is cheaper to build factories in Indonesia and Brazil, and the wages
there are lower.

The standard of living is growing much faster in many other parts of the
world. The political grip over world politics is decreasing. The old
alliance between Britain and USA, which ruled this planet for 60 years
is falling apart. UN is under reorganisation.

The influence of USA worldwide can seem big at the moment, but it is
conducted in a way which costs a lot of goodwill, and will lead to a
much decreased american influence in the longer perspective.

The rightwing conservative christian community and their un-knowing
followers among middle-class and poor people in USA are on the losing
side, and they will become disappointed in the president they voted to
power.

Other parts of the american society will not experience much problems,
and will not feel like they are on the losing side.

USA is a big country, with lots of different sides and aspects, some
very positive and some very depressing and in need of restructuring,
both mentally and socially.

Too bad you weren't paying any fucking attention while you were
campaigning for their main minion.

You're one of the ones that inflicted this on us - now you're trying
to weasel out because you got a clue too late.

Dumb fuck.

democracy.

But maybe you are thinking about the false democracy, politics

Actually Thomas Jefferson was supporting the establishment of a
Representative Republic when his famous quote was made.
America is not and never has been a "Democracy."

BTW: There are more Corporations and other businesses destroyed by
Government than are supported by the efforts of government.
What you call "corporate interests" is a Cabal, not a corporate
preference. It is corruption! There are corporate, ethnic, and
regional Cabals operating to influence Government in the US as we
speak.

Clearly a "democracy" was never intended by the FF. The United States
was quite intentionally set up to be a republic. Until Amendment XVII
(1913) "the people" didn't vote for senators.

It's formally defined as a representative democracy. The people don't
vote, they vote for the people who vote. This leads to wierd anomalies,
such as George W Bush, who lost the 'popular' vote in 2000, but won the
election due to quirks in the law, and a few friends in high places.

That's quite normal for a bicameral parliament, in fact those that have
a popular suffrage for both chambers are rather rare. In UK, we still
don't vote for members of the upper chamber.

Of course, US actually has a soviet system for presidential elections.

Ok, I'm a major-league Republican. Ok, more of a conservative, but given
that, Klintoon-Bore-Ketchup were not acceptable in any way. Yes, I rather
