(56-4, AntennaTV) that the local NBC station added.

After the FCC repack in LA several channels moved frequencies so that
needed a rescan. KCAL channel 9 has added
3 subchannels but not at the same time so you would need a rescan for
each addition. We had an old Magnavox
where you could select the RF channel and a few seconds later it would
identify the PSIP and report the
channel. It gets more interesting in that the channel 28 carrier for KCET
also has KLCS (ch 58) as subchannels
but behaves as if ch 58 is its own carrier. Likewise channel 50 KOCE is now
subchannels on KSCI ch 18. It did
take them quite a while before they got is sorted so that my TVs and
computers would recognize it properly.

I realize many TVs have very poor or no programming ability, some with more
utility than others. Most in Pittsburgh wonder where the local channel 13
VHF-H went. They can no longer receive the new 60 mHz ch 4 frequency with
tiny antennas LOL.

I noticed in Pittsburgh that your neighbor could be 100 ft lower or higher than you are.

Follow up from 2.5 years ago. Over the last few days, I did my annual-re-making-of-all-connections exercise on the HK system (Citation 17/18/19, AR M5 speakers, Revox turntable, Revox cassette player, Sony CD Changer, ). Four things arose:
a) The phono-input (17) was fuzzy. Fix was re-solder the right-channel ground on the input jack - HK components of that era are notorious for cold-solders. Luckily it was visible.
b) Minimal hum, both channels, only when the 17 was ON. Cleaned up two internal grounds, went away.
c) The *other* channel became intermittent - but full output from the 17, so, within the 19. Much longer fix - with the wooden stick method, literally poking around. Found the 4-section Molex connector (only two sections connected) was intermittent at the ground. NOT the connector, but the square pin through the driver board was cold-soldered and/or had cracked at the board. Interesting inasmuch as it tested for continuity, but was intermittent in operation Re-soldered - good now. I also re-soldered all the pins on the other Molex connectors - figuring they were all done at the same time, likely by the same individual with the same equipment.
d) The AR woofers both needed new surrounds. Which by pure blind luck, I had sitting around with the proper glue. Took about 4 hours each - mostly as that is how long it takes the glue to set. Better now!


While I was there, I adjusted the muting threshold and stereo thresholds for the 18. The target stations have reduced power slightly, making the adjustment more of a convenience than a necessity.

Anyway, no more troubles. Next: the main system.

I didn\'t know that you could copy the VCR or VHS tape onto the DVD (then transfer to a hard/flash drive).

Copy to DVD/files works much better with time base corrected video so that the maths line up for the subcarrier (color) and luminance. Once the TBC
has done its job, making files and DVDs is trivial. I used to do this regularly. There aren\'t a lot of TBCd VCR models. JVC called it \'digipure\' and it
works very well. I use a JVC HR-S9911U. Note SOME video capture cards might have the TBC function on the card so you can use any VCR.

I used to buy parts from Dalbani many years ago, and they were one of the suppliers that sent me counterfeit semis. I mostly bought basic stuff from them like VCR mechanical parts after than, but no more semis. They\'re still in Florida but I\'m sure they\'re not the same company they were.
Same here. Their STR regulators were counterfeit plus their
replacement flybacks didn\'t work.

I installed the new transistor a few months back and the oven function works again, however, the maximum temperature it can reach is 350F. It\'s all right, I can still cook, it just take a wee bit more time. In my full size oven, it takes 20 minutes to bake croissants at 400F. In the Panasonic NN-C994S, it takes 30 minutes at 350F.

The datasheet from Fuji mention a 1MB30-060 and a 1MBH30D-060 but there\'s nothing about a 1MB30D-060 which makes me wonder if I\'ve received bootlegs. (Fast forward 2 hours later) I have inspected inspected both transistor more closely and I\'ll be damned if these thing haven\'t been sanded down and re-lazer etched. You can clearly see the grain : /

Ordering most any simiconductor off ebay from another country is very
chancy. I know several in the local ham club that bought from over seas
and the simiconductors were faulty in one way or another. I bought some
20 watt RF transistors and they would only make about half the poewr
they should have. Reordered from a reliable source in the US and the
new ones worked like they were supose to.

U need an isolated ground receptacle. Used to combat noise interference with audio and video, it must be supplied by a metal raceway or cable system that is an equipment grounding conductor. Connect it past any panelboards and absolutely do not connect it to the panelboard grounding terminal bar, but to independent 3 x 6 ft. independent copper rods completely driven into the ground.

(As per code NEC 517.16 Use of Isolated Ground Receptacles
\"The grounding terminal on the isolated ground receptacle must be connected by an insulated equipment grounding conductor with one or more yellow stripes which is permitted to pass through one or more panelboards without a connection to the panelboard grounding terminal bar as permitted in 408.40 ...)

why would a ceiling fan plug into a receptacle? This suggestion is just
dumb.

There\'s no harm in trying a filter, but checking the quality of your
grounding also doesn\'t hurt, make sure neutral and hot are not reversed
etc. It still just sounds like a cheaply made motor drive.
