Goes to show how dumb the store people are these days....

I was at disk smith and has some old twat trying to get me to buy power
diodes instead of signal diodes because "they are the same can take even
more power" apparently power is the only ever consideration.

I remember when they used to have people who had a fucking clue... oh
wait that was when there was a surplus of graduate electronics
engineers, oh well.

You will be able to buy the original phone on eBay, complete with
pics:
http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,25197,24366781-26103,00.html
** Two points:

1. Ebay are likely to block any such sale.

2. The whole episode is beginning to look like a hoax or even attempted
extortion.

The phone has not been returned to DSE for a refund, as the owner wants
money compensation.

There is no proof the nude pics are actually of any DSE staffers or were in
the phone when it was purchased.

I smell fish.

Look at it this way (no pun intended). You can delete the offending images.
A lot easier than having it misrepresented at the point of sale.
You can't put in a feature of a product that didn't exist in the first
place, that the idiot salesperson assured you it could do. :-(

I had to replace my mobile phone whilst on the other side of the country a
bit over a month ago. I was assured it would sync to my genuine Motorola
hands-free car kit and my headset (both Motorola Bluetooth devices). On
returning home it wouldn't work with either of my existing devices. So much
for promises made at the time of the sale.

Different fish then, I suppose. Should have been given a 'B-stock'
discount. But if they'd wiped it down it would not have had the same eBay
reassle value...

Maybe they experimented with the "hands free" feature.

Yeah, whatever happened to the 'blue dress' anyway Smithsonian ?

And who wouuld go home to their Mum and say "looky here, there's
president-jiz on my dress" and Mum, instead of saying "Oh dear, we'd better
fling it into the wash", says " Oh, we better hang onto that for a year or
so . Might come in handy", so to speak...

Well why do you keep going back in ???
its a sales shop, not a specialist store any more, has been that way for 10
or so years, but you keep going back..
and then saying .. I remember when...
Hey, try going into Woolworths and buy some eggs and see if the checkout
sales people can tell you is it ok to use these eggs instead of Duck eggs,
or quail eggs, and whats the difference..!!
Becuase thats what your expecting by asking DSE staff what a diode is, be
happy he knew what a diode was..
Have a good day, keep away from DSE..

Cheers
Allan

DSE staff has been like that since the early 90's (at least).

I've been to a few different DSEs across the country - I've found that
if you intend on purchasing something - take everything out of the
box/packaging and check the contents. They seem to regularly shove
broken/returned stock onto the shelves.

I nearly bought an Arlec torch from DSE near Hobart - checked it out -
the handle was smashed, as was the power pack (the box was pristine).
