I was at disk smith and has some old twat trying to get me to buy power
diodes instead of signal diodes because "they are the same can take even
more power" apparently power is the only ever consideration.
I remember when they used to have people who had a fucking clue... oh

engineers, oh well.

DSE staff has been like that since the early 90's (at least).
I've been to a few different DSEs across the country - I've found that
if you intend on purchasing something - take everything out of the
box/packaging and check the contents. They seem to regularly shove
broken/returned stock onto the shelves.
I nearly bought an Arlec torch from DSE near Hobart - checked it out -
the handle was smashed, as was the power pack (the box was pristine).
