Verification of AVR8 Soft Core

Hi,

I managed to find some code for the AVR8 Soft Processor for the Arduino.
It's VHDL code that you can implement on an FPGA to simulate the Arduino.

Does anyone know if it's possible to run some kind of VHDL formalism/hardware verification on it?
