TV out of focus on startup

Guest
I got an older TV. When I first turn it on, the picture is real
"fuzzy" (out of focus). Once it warms up (a minute or two), it is
fine.

I remember when the older tube type tv's would do that because of weak
tubes causing the high voltage to be lower than normal, but this is a
semiconductor tv. As far as I know, semiconductors either work, or
don't work. They dont get "weak". So why does this happen?

It sounds to me like an old, worn, weak CRT. Run it until it drops and buy
a new television.

I heard if you connect the heater up to 12 Volts and run for 15 minutes,
then drop the supply down to 8 Volts and keep running for a further 5
Minutes, then turn the supply off,

Put the TV together and turn it on this would do great improvement.

When I first tried it, I was over the moon, it worked 'Bl**dy great"
But the next time I tried well forget it, I will be very reluctant to try it
again. I am confused why the customer did not complain.

I am not sure why I got so opposite results.
