Toshiba Projection Big Screen TV

Hello,

My Big Screen TV Picture is bowed Horizontally on the top and bottom
sometimes. I will turn the TV on and for 30 minutes it will be fine and then
it Bows and the picture is all screwed up. Sometimes I can lightly hit the
top center of the TV with my fist and it knocks the picture back to normal
(like the Fonz).

I want to have someone come out and fix it, but would like to know what
needs to be done so I don't get ripped off on repairs/parts not needed.
Any Advice? Thanks in advance.

This can be from a cold solder connection on the board at any of the
various components in the associated scan and pin amp circuits. It is
also possible that a component is internally (mechanically)
intermittent. The service tech can determine this. When he checks the
set, he may also be able to check the various caps in the scan circuits,
in case some are high in ESR, and will soon require replacement.

If you are afraid of being cheated, call Toshiba and find out their
authorized service rep for your area. You will pay the premium for the
labour, but you will be sure of the work done.
