Switching Problem

Hi all,

I'm trying to put together a small traffic lights project. Rather than using
relays to control the head outputs, I want to use a solid state approach.
So, I've arranged the head control circuit as detailed on the jpg at the
following URL

Plus, the switch has to have the bility to switch either an AC or a DC
supply.

However, I'm having a little difficulty. Can anyone point out why it's not
working. Note, the bulb outputs go directly to the bulb (shock!) and the
other side of the bulb connection will be connected to live. The idea being
the MOSFET's will act as the switch controlled from a PIC with the
opto-isolator to stop and surges back to the PIC.

Any help would be appreciated.

Robbie,
I know this isn't what you want to hear, but I bought my controls from
http://trafficlights.com .

It was a small board that fit snugly in my 1940's style light. I made that
decision after spending a fortune on time-delayed relays and proto timing
circuits, if I recall, it was less than $50 and hooked up quickly in one
evening.

Something you might be interested in, I connected the light to a X-10
transmitter and controlled my "Walk" sign wireless and n'sync with the light.

Do you need another light and walk/don't light? Let me know.

Cheers,

Are these actually legal for use on the roads in the US? Beginning to wish I
lived in the states!
