There's a grave here. You feel the words: " sme, killed by posting to

You could try circuit simulators. Visit
http://www.cadencepcb.com/products/downloads/PSpicestudent/default.asp
for pspice student or http://www.circuitmaker.com for circuitmaker. If
the URL for circuitmaker don't work, just search for "circuitmaker" on
google.

thanks Rich Webb I'll have a look....

I don't know of any that actively teach -- as in: lessons, graded
exercises, etc. -- although I'm sure there are some out there.
On the other hand, the family of simulation programs that have grown up
around the Spice engine can be used as a learning aid in company with a
textbook or cookbook (e.g., "IC Op-Amp Cookbook" Walter G Jung).

The full-featured Spice applications can be expensive but there are some
free versions available. One that I know of is the "Lite" version from
www.beigebag.com.

Take a look at FNC-Elcad. It will design a circuit for you and then
display all the formulas used. For example, if you want to design a
power supply, just enter in your requirements and it will display the
schematic with all the right component values. Click on "Formulas"
and it will display all the formulas used to design the power supply.
While it is not free, it is very low priced. It has a free trial version,
that
you can download and try.
Take a look at it at http://www.fncwired.com
Hope this helps
