You ignorant and gutless PoS, Thompson!
Boxer was right. She hit the disingenuous Rice right on the spot.
Thank goodness at least _some_ of your so-called politicians have
principles.

BB wouldn't recognize a principle if you rubbed it in her face. She's
a short-attention-span opportunist; always has been.

"We can have this discussion in any way that you would like, but I
really hope that you will refrain from impugning my integrity," Rice
told Boxer. "I really hope that you will not imply that I take the
truth lightly."

Oh yeah, and like CR isn't?? Get real. Women and politics don't mix.
Remember Margaret Thatcher?

Lady Thatcher, the one who brought Democracy to Argentina? She rocks!
Best chick since Golda Mier.

"We can have this discussion in any way that you would like, but I

told Boxer. "I really hope that you will not imply that I take the

Translation: "You've got me rattled with this (accurate) war crime
allegation, so the only thing I can think of to come back with is a
veiled threat to sue you for libel which I sincerely hope will shut
you up."

Improved Translation: "Don't call me a liar, you slut." Condi will
obviously make a great diplomat.

|Lady Thatcher, the one who brought Democracy to Argentina? She rocks!

Now then, I've often had a wank over the concept of Margaret Thatcher.... in
stockings and 'blue' latex.

Hope she dies soon and gets buried in a shit hole, I'll provide the shit.

Isn't Golda Mier some ugly dumpy South American slug with warts and shoes?

Or was that Diego Marcia..... no that was Maradonna. Shit.... Immelda
Marcos, yep got it now, Jewish person, used to be in charge of the
Phillipines.

I often fantasize about Margaret Beckett, one dead sexy old bird with her
heart in the right place and no chin, took over the Labour party for a while
when bald bloke with glasses had a heart attack and did the dead thing.

Glenda Jackson was something else, and then she opened her gob.... seems to
have faded into the distance.

Now then...... Edwina Curry in a nice tight leather dress, I think she's
Jewish too.

I know there's some other Thatcher clone......... Gillian Shepherd!"!!,
Monstorously nice in waxed jacket, waterproofs and wellingtons.

I dunno but this side of the pond there's precious little to have a wank
over other than memories, Anne Widdicombe?

Hope you're doing better over there....

When all you have in your soul is lovelessness, hate comes easy.

I just wish I didn't have to wait for all of you denial spirits to die of
old age before we can manifest Love on Earth.

Die soon, please, nazi.

It's because of an affliction many competent, successful technical people
have (myself included). Since we have demonstrated expertize in some area,
we must be experts in all areas.

It's true. Just ask us.

Back in the 50's and 60's, electronics was an area that was exciting
and full of promise. The enthusiasm for such things was contagious,
hams were everywhere, and electronics tinkerers were abundant. The
thing driving all of this was the veiled knowledge that there were
exciting jobs aplenty for folks who were well versed in technology.

But now... the average person has no idea what is inside of all this
wonderful technospawn of the 60's, and just doesn't care! Space probes
and shuttle launches draw a big yawn from those that even know that they
are happening. And when they do meet the radar screen of the average
Joe Sixpack, he will say something like, "Cool! But dude wouldn't this money
have been better spent on <pick a subject>?" The number of decent jobs in
electronics has dropped to a mere figment of its former imagination.

Of the 100 or so people that occasionally post on this group (abse), maybe
15 do so regularly. Of those 15, they don't seem to have much to say about
electronics, either because they do so much of it in their day-to-day
job that it bores them, or because they don't know anything substantial
about electronics.

So basically, this newsgroup seems to mirror real life pretty well.

Votes are in: only BB and JK voted 'no'. They do have a lot in common:
neither one likes black people.

I was going to say that BB set a new standard for white trash... but
then I realized the wonderful exposure that she gave the Democrat
Party.

It's a shrinking party, let it continue.

...Jim Thompson

Clarence Thomas played the race card - "high-tech lynching" - because
he had to. Condi played it - "a black was worth 3/5 of a white" - just
as a prod; she didn't have to, since her nomination was a walkover.

Go girl!

Here is the actual transcript:

http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article7750.htm

Boxer spent her time quoting various misstatements and outright lies
about WMD that Ms Rice made in an effort to 'sell the war' in Iraq.
Nothing Boxer said was false.

It was Ms Rice's job to know better. Any intentional misstatements Ms
Rice made in public seem pertinant in the confirmation of our main
political spokesman to the rest of the world. How can anybody trust her?
She is obviously a political toady. That was Sen Boxer's point.

The thing I don't like about our esteemed National Security Advisor is
simply that she is terrible at her current job. She failed to
successfully fulfill any of the traditional roles that the NSA generally
is tasked with. She failed to effectively vet information that went into
the state of the union message. She was unable to provide guidance
required for the Iraq invasion, and let Rumsfeld blunder in without
adequate troops or a reasonable exit strategy. Much of her job is to
protect the president from stupid mistakes like that. The other part is
to advise the president on "National Security", something she
consistently failed to do before or after 9/11. I certainly don't feel
more secure now, after 2 years of "terrorist building" in Iraq.

Now, whether this is because she was talking to somebody with a wooden
head is another matter. (If only his nose would grow when he lied...)

"Bush at War", by Bob Woodward, which is generally considered a somewhat
obsequious look at the administration's response to 9/11, gives her low
marks. According to it, she was pretty much a messenger in the ego wars
between Rumsfeld-Cheney and Powell that formed our Afghanistan policy,
unable or unwilling to come up with any agenda or policy on her own,
lost and out of her depth. Her area of expertise is Soviet policy and
cold war strategy, which is a pretty useless thing at this point. She
wasn't able to effectively pull together the intelligence agencies
before 9/11, squandering the time that may have prevented that tragedy,
and now she is going to be in total charge of a bureaucracy that is much
larger.

Her real role in the administration has been to explain things to Bush
in simple language he could understand. She was one of the 'tutors' that
daddy pulled together when Jr decided to make a run for president in
1999. She worked for Brent Scowcroft in Daddy Bush's administration.
(the same Brent Scowcroft who now considers Jr's policy, as set mainly
by Condi, lame.) Bush trusts her, possibly because she doesn't make him
feel incompetent (like Powell, Cheney, Rumsfeld, etc do, according to
Woodward in subsequent interviews).

Here is a useful analysis of her work to date:
