No, we got Richo to move it out over to New Zealand.

I think that that scam ran out of steam, they then "picked another
gas" to demonise and profit from (carbon)

Carbon emissions rose sharply when they banned the most efficient
refrigerant (CFC), less efficient refrigerant (non-CFC) mean fridges and AC
units use a lot more energy to do half the job.

They are using hydrocarbons (lpg) now which are fairly efficient.(much
to the chagrin of Dupont)

That could be true, We replaced the 30 old "kelvinator" aircon that
was in the workshop (was still working well, but was rusted away, and
the outside fan was getting noisy and seizing up, which was how we
found out about the rust) with a modern "carrier" unit.

Even though the cooling ability was similar between the 2, (took a
similar operating time to bring the room down to temperature, and we
have had hotter summers in the past than the one in question) the
electricity bill went up substantially.

The old unit would surely have used the CFC gas.
