Seems just like yesterday ;-)
My anniversary's April 1st, just past. She is my first and only and
actually used to baby sit me when I was a kid (she's two years older
than me.) We've been together as a pair for 27 years with no question
of at least another 27 yet to go. If you'll just hold your horses for
a few years, I might even catch up.

Wonderful to hear about long marriages! (Keith and Ted, too.)

That event WASN'T the flour bomb. That event was the damp fireplace
wood that wouldn't light. I didn't have any charcoal lighter, so I
soaked the logs down with Acetone. Then flicked in a match from
across the living room... fireball followed by ash everywhere ;-)
You're lucky the pressure spike from the blast didn't crack any windows. I
have seen that result from the same action.

And, Congratulations!

No. Just went out to dinner by ourselves ;-)

Five more years to the 50th... then we'll party!

Well, I disagree with your politics, and frankly, my envy of your
success in all of that other stuff is an "issue" I need to deal with on
my own dime, so from as close as I can get to my heart here, congrats and
best wishes and may you and your loved ones all have good health and all

Thank you, but 27 is nothing to be ashamed of! We're off next weekend to
visit my mother (who didn't think it would work, but signed for the
license anyway). We only see her once or twice a year and she'll be 92
this summer, so...

The town up river from here, the one with the University... they
have strict night time noise laws. It sucks because I like to crank
certain songs and the cops are pricks, sportin' neo-nazi skinhead
hair cuts and hasslin' stoodints like I've never seen before except
maybe on TV.

Even cranked, I don't make near as much racket as that thumping bass
noise the rappers like so much, but I don't need a citation. I got
pulled over and cited for just *starting* to turn up a one way
street the wrong way. The bastard was right on my ass, so after
realizing I was one street short of the inteded course change and
seeing hte parked cars pointed my way, I stopped. I couldn't back up
so I went one block to get out of the way. And traffic crap in PA
goes to a magistrate. The one for that district runs a kangaroo
court. I'm going back to MD where the traffic court judges are cool
and there's some good money to be made.

Oh. Help yourself to the flowers if it will cheer you up.

I don't have the envy issue, but I regret not having the opportunity
to work with a number of people in this group and on some of the
interesting stuff they've been a part of. Maybe someday. At least
there are other great people in the world that I may yet get to
meet. Thinking of applying electronics to earth sciences. So many
avenues to explore in electronics.

What fouled up your luck/success/[potential destiny (?)] ? You seem
to have a positive enough attitude most of the time.

Pat
Eighth Grade, Junior High School (Middle School in today's lingo),
science class.

Large (pipe) tobacco tin

Drill small hole thru bottom of tin

Insert funnel from inside, stem extending out bottom of tin

Attach rubber hose to funnel stem

Fill funnel with ~ 2 tablespoons flour

Insert lit candle into tin

Close lid

Hand can to science teacher (Mrs. Brammer, I still remember :)

Blow thru rubber tube

Rather large fireball, followed by lid impaled in ceiling

Science teacher was not happy :-(

Marched me down to Principal Bill Boyd (we called him "Hopalong" :),
but he just laughed. (Fortunately for me, he laughed at most of my
pranks... today, I'd be doing jail time.)

This was precisely 50 years ago, so I think I'm safe from the statute
of limitations ;-)

I don't think she was that naive, just not expecting the magnitude ;-)

I'm pretty sure it's because I'm Will-polarized. And I've never been
a hoop-jumper - I can't stand alarm clocks or monkey suits.

For public discussion, I just chalk it up to laziness. If at first
you don't succeed, try try again, then give up. No sense being a
damn fool about it! ;-)

And, of course, as The Philosophizer, I'm on a mission from God;

monied and dead. ;-P

Cheers!
