OT: "admilli service" ????

Cleaning up my wife's computer, after a teen-age granddaughter
installed a bunch of crap, I ran across a program called "admilli
service".

(I'm beginning to wonder how I survived raising four kids the first
time around :)

Rather than delete something I'm unfamiliar with...

Anyone know what that is?

I love to cook with wine. Sometimes I even put it in the food.

Reportedly, spyware:

Have you tried googling for "admilli service"? - I got lots of hits,
and it doesn't look too nice....

Just looked in windows\system and I've 170 *.EXE files and 820 *.DLLs. I
recognise maybe a dozen or so of these file names. What the hell the rest
are doing I just don't know.
Slowing down your computer. You should delete them and get better
performance. <BG>

Of course. Liberal antiamerican terrorists. Aren't they the cause of
all of your problems?

Addiction to Micro$ has nothing to do with it, of course.

Good Luck, dipwick.

I removed six types of adware. I'm running a full NAV scan right
now... so far 10 more "threats" :-(

Can a login for a specific user be set such that IE can't run? Or,
better yet, deny access to the Internet?

I guess I could just unplug that computer from the router when
grandchildren are present, but that's a pain for me to remember.

A guy I know does volunteer work with the Boy Scouts during the summer.
One night he let the 'boy scouts' use his computer and the next day, his
email had 206 spams, almost all of them porn.

Makes you seriously consider unplugging the kids, not the computer.
At work, I had to clean over a hundred adwares off of this one good
lookin' woman's PC, and I told her afterwards she had to stop being so
promsicuous with her PC. ;-)

And yet, you keep using 'doze. Howard County Public Libraries got tired
of having to reboot the public access internet machines several times
a day, and of having to continually remove virii, and other malware.

They converted all of the public access internet machines to linux 2 years
ago, and they haven't had a problem since. Makes one wonder when y'all
are going to get tired of cleaning up the raw sewage that leaks through
the holes in your operating system, and try something new and clean.

Replace it with software that actually works.

What app did you have in mind that isn't supported?

Wanna see my menus?

Cheers!

Presently all computers in the house are booting up as
"administrator".

(1) If I change this to a normal user will that prevent installations
occurring from websites?

(2) How do I accomplish this? That is, how do I maintain the "run"
permissions for already installed programs?

Thanks!

That was
about 2 years ago, and I still get 1500 emails a month for her account -
all spam,
of course, and most of it porn-related, penis enlargement, viagra, etc.
I have had about 20 e-mail addresses... and sometimes I have to change
them because somehow, someone almost always discovers my e-mail address.

Currently, for professional usage, I have a Gmail account that I use via
webmail - I have never found any e-mail client that I like, the closest
ones are The Bat! and Sylpheed-Claws.

Makes me
wonder what the HELL kind of sites she was visiting. But, a lot of it
was stuff
that shouldn't have brought on such a porno-deluge. Barbie, current TV
programs,
etc. But, the spammers don't care about any sort of selective
marketing, they
are selling LIVE email addresses to imbeciles who pay for a 0.0001%
probability
of finding a live sucker!
