Newfound Electronics - PIC programmers and I'm pissed off

Having been the unlucky purchaser of a software upgrade
from Newfound Electronics for their Warp programmer about
18 months ago I had a bit of a problem with it recently. The
unnecessary copy protection "feature" decided I was no
longer a registered customer and has put me into "Trial"
mode (which expires in 3 days). So two weeks ago I sent
an e-mail to Newfound
http://www.newfoundelectronics.com/default.htm
and did not receive a reply. Today I sent a follow up
e-mail only to receive an automated response telling
me:

"Sadly, as of the 1st July 2003 NEWFOUND
ELECTRONICS has become a web site only based
business. The business just got to big and
created to much stress to keep as it was...

Regretfully email and phone support has
discontinued however it is hoped that the
information on our web site will be of assistance.

Sincere apoligies for any inconvenience this
may cause."

You bet your arse it's causing inconvenience it's
costing me money and may well loose me a customer
if I can't programme PICs this week!

So Newfound are still selling product (and I think
Dontronics and others carry their products too)
but are refusing to provide support

Perhaps someone could tell me how the fuck I am
supposed to get the software I paid for 18 months
ago to work again!? Even bloody Microsoft don't
try and pull stunts like this one on you!

I'm also interested in the outcome of this as I have a Warp 13 as well.

If it is not going to be supported by the manufacturer, I would like to
get access to some of the materials to be able to support it myself if
I need to.

Any possibility this will be passed on to someone else to support and
further develop??

Tony.

That's a shame Mike, I've always found Jim to be very responsive to
enquiries.

I was under the impression that the Warp 13 software no longer had any
time bombs? This was an issue with the older PP1 and Warp-3
Programmers though, not sure if it was ever resolved. I'm still using
an old special non time-bomb version of my PP1 firmware.
But I have been able to freely download software and firmware for my
Warp-13 programmer.

Regards
Dave :)

I purchased a software upgrade for my Warp 3 programmer
which is called Warpcorp, it is this software which has the

removed from the Newfound site as a saleable product over
the past couple of weeks?
Is the Warp 3 able to somehow use the new Warp-13 firmware and
software?
Even if you have to mod your board somehow, that would be very
worthwhile.
