Yep, my experience is the same. This house had 40+ 50W Halogen
downlights in it when I first moved in. They disappeared really quickly
and were replaced by 8Watt LEDs.

word. When I joined the section, one of the guys warned me to keep
interactions with the boss to a minimum during the full moon. I was a
bit incredulous about this but the guy got progressively more irritable
as the full moon approached, returning to his usual self afterward. In
the 12 months that I worked there, there was 100% correlation.

replaced the slightly less efficient and reliable CFLs (which proved to be
far more reliable than the IC lamps they replaced. In my bathroom, there
was a 75 Watt IC lamp. I replaced it with a 24 watt CFL, which provided
more light. That lamp has been replaced with a 7.5 Watt LED (Aldi
purchased), which provides slightly less light than the CFL (as measured
with my light meter), but still plenty adequate and more than the original
IC lamp. When digging my basement, I used a couple of 500 Watt halogen
work lights. After an hour or so, it became too hot to work. I replaced
them with a couple of 100 Watt LEDs. WAY brighter and far less heat
generated. And don't get me started on those idiotic halogen downlights.
Horribly unreliable. I used to buy a dozen at a time, before LEDs replaced
them (more Aldi models). I have never had to replace one.

You can stick your IC lamps where the Sun don't shine.

I normally operate under a double 36 Watt Fluoro (total power consumption
= 75 Watts). When things get difficult (my eye surgeon tells me I have the
beginings of cataracts and my vision has been reduced a couple of stops),
I switch on a second double 36 Watt batten. Another 75 Watts (they're both
fitted with 'electronic' ballasts).

My 50 Watt LED panel puts slightly more light onto the bench than BOTH
double fluoros. It'll do me 'till I get that cataract surgery. Two colour
temperatures available.
