A blunt is a joint made using the outer covering of a cheap cigar,
like a Phillie. In fact Phillie makes a cigar named the "Blunt." So
that's how blunts got their name.
Split the cigar open and dump the contents, fill with your favorite
intoxicating herb, and roll it up like the traditional Jamaican
cornshuck splif.
That's how blunts got started -- Jamaican immigrants to major northern
conurbations like NYC could find Phillies Blunts a lot more easily
than they could find cornshucks. Old-fashion corner delis, candy
stores and newsstands in New York City still sell Phillies as they
always have. Most Phillies probably go into making blunts, now, but
some people still smoke them despite that Phillies are the nastiest
cigars made.

FYI, the Fluke 43 PQAs on campus show the whole mess of PWM up at
15kHz or whatever they run them at. I forget the VFD type in the lab,
but obviously it produces a PWM ("noisy"?) output. It still reads
correctly, as far as I know (RMS, power factor, ...).

OK, seems like a good place to ask this question...

I have a Tek 2712 spectrum analyzer and one of the Philips PLS157 PLA is
bad. It is in the trace blanking logic. I can buy an unprogrammed PLS157
on E-bay.

Anybody have any ideas where I can get the program info or even better a
pre-programmed part. It is A9U308 PN 160-5005-00 Man code 8009 which is
TEK .

Or failing that, anybody have an idea of what the logic is that is used to
create the blanking signal, there are about 4 or 5 inputs to this chip and
only one output is bad so I might be able to wire up some combinational
logic to re-create the function.

If anybody out there has any info about this, I could use it.
