I have a Philips VCR, model VR674CAT21. It seems to require
programming before I can get it to run, or even acknowledge the remote
control menu button. I recall the last time I moved that I had to
press a sequence or combination of buttons to get it to work. I just
moved a second time and now cannot find the instructions and cannot
recall the sequence.

Any help would be appreciated with this. ASAP help would be even
better, as it's job related and of course they want the dubs
yesterday! :-/

Thanks in advance.

Uncle:
Maybe the machine in is "parental lock" ..... with the remote, hold the
power button down for up to 10 seconds, see if that solves the problem.

Well, I tried that and it did at least respond, but it still won't
work. It now blinks back and forth between horizontal bars and the
letters "CL". However, it will not respond to anything, either through
the remote or the VCR itself.

However, it did at least change the display, so you are on the right
track. Do you have idea what I could try next?

Thanks.
