Er, sorry, that reference escapes me.

Sheesh! Down under, you're far more a "Brit" than *I*! It's
from the "Knights Who Say Ni" skit.

It's also worth remembering the airspeed of an unladen swallow
(European *or* African) on the odd chance you might need to cross
a Bridge of Death, at some time...

Shame on you! Monty Python: The Holy Grail. British irreverent silliness, but
often so much to the point.

+1

"Bring out your dead...."

Actually, I preferred ANFSCD -- esp "How Not to be Seen", the "Milkmen",
"Nudge, Nudge, Wink, Wink" and, of course, "Dead Parrot". It seemed like
more "laughs per unit time" than The Grail.

I allways take care when interacting with rabbits after knowing about the "pointy teeth" and the deadly consequences (bring out the holy handgrenade)

"I fart in your general direction", also a great comment from the guy talking about mean airspeed of the swallow. That's hilarious

Cheers

I'm pretty sure I've seen the movie (rather than just the good parts on
YouTube), but I really have no recollection of that bit.

I thought that came from the "castle" scene, near the end -- from the
frenchmen behind the battlements.

And, wasn't there a scene with "Attack! Attack!" followed almost immediately
by "Run Away! Run Away!"?

I'll have to rewatch it with a more critical eye (ear?).

I love the story of the sailors about the H.M.S. Sheffield, after it
was struck and damaged by a missile in the Falklands war, singing
"Always Look on the Bright Side of Life".

" The missile strike fractured the water main,[12] preventing the
anti-fire mechanisms from operating effectively, and thereby dooming
the ship to be consumed by the raging fire.

After the ship was struck and her crew waiting to be rescued, Sub
Lieutenant Carrington-Wood led the crew in singing "Always Look on the
Bright Side of Life" from Monty Python’s Life of Brian.[13]"

Thank you for bringing that to my attention.

Yes. I found this to be one of the most interesting bits I have read
today as well.

I have some MP. I have DVDs, but I think I actually have some LaserDisc
titles too. Been so long, I do not rememeber what I have in my library.
Not the case for my current collection of 5.25" media, spanning three
different formats. Since I do not have an LD playere here, the discs are
in a box. But my HD-DVD bd-DVD & DVD player makes me keep the rest
available. Even though I do not watch many of my DVD titles often, I do
have many that I have not duped in bluray yet. I only have one bluray MP
title so far:
The Meaning of Life"

Good stuff, MP. I ramble in your general direction.

Yes, you might be right, been 20 years since I saw it last. My kids are not yet fluent in English, but when they are, I will force them to see it :)

While much of the film was "boring" (gasp!), there were lots of
little "jokes" embedded in unexpected places.

I tend to enjoy movies that screw with the viewer's head -- subtly
or overtly! Makes the movie worth watching, again, to see what
other tidbits you can stumble upon!
