i did ask jaycar how can you get 25watts out of a
little valve like that, ive made up outputs with this
type of tube and only got 5watts at the most
and then i found out later what was inside
was just a solid state amp.

with a CRO and got a *real* heater voltage figure - and reason why.

operating at the correct Voltage was clear and obvious. I'd reckon a
20-25% overload would be in the ballpark.

it seems that a IN5408 diode is used for the
heaters, it gets very hot.
as i put each valve back in the voltage changes
overdoading the diode making it hot.
ive been building tube amps for ubout 15 years
i know what im doing.
