InFocus LP730 Convergence "service mode"

Hello,

There is an undocumented method for aligning the 3 lcds in this Epson/
Sieko optical engine used in this InFocus model LP730 video projector.
I have magenta borders to one side. If I could slide that LCD over
about 10 pixels, everything would be OK.

I've looked at the asssembly and maybe it could be done manually but
it is a bear. I understand there is an electronic method but it
requires codes and/or jumpers. The manufacturer no longer services
this model.

Any thoughts?

Going back a good number of years, I used to service an Infocus projector.
I cannot remember the model. The convergence was mechanical on the one that
I used to work on. It was a very difficult task to get a good convergence
out of it. In its time it was okay, but it would never meet the specs of one
of today! We had to get rid of it because we were no longer able to have
parts or support for it.

For a reasonable cost, you can get a very nice modern projector that is
supported, and it will be superior to the Infocus unit. We use to call it
an "Outfocus", because of all the problems we had with it!
