High Voltage Transformer

Guest
Hi I'm looking for a transformer that meets the following specs.

Primary: 120 V
Secondary: around 10 to 15 kV
Power: around 2.5 to 3 kVA

I'm having a trouble finding a place where I can purchase one of these,
if anyone could tell me where to get this that would be very cool.

Thanks.

Sounds dangerous. You could wind your own.
Is it a 60Hz transformer? What do you need it for?

This is similar to the spec of a power distribution transformer (pole transformer) - companies that
supply electrical utilities should be able to supply something.
It's also similar to what's used for bombarding neon signs during manufacturer, but many neon shops
use pole transformers instead of dedicated bombarder transformers.

Since a few people were curious,

This transformer will be for a circuit that charges a 25 kJ, 125 kA
capacitor for an small electromagnetic railgun.
The input power will be 120 V 60 Hz on a 20A breaker. Since I can only
take 20A in, a transformer of 2.5 kVA or bigger will be slightly
overrated for the application, but thats what I'm after.

There's no need to oversize the transformer, like you're
considering, because with an intermittent load the copper
heating won't be a factor. And I'm sure you won't mind a
slight (perhaps a few %) drop in load vs no-load output.
