Help identifying ceramic resonator

CSA722

I have a ceramic resonator in a remote that has broken leads. The numbers on
the case are: 1422 on the first line, 271-4 on the second line and the initials
C.P. on the third line. I can't find it in the Digi-Key catalog and I can't
determine the resonate frequency. The remote is from a GE TV. Any help is
appreciated.

Thanks,
Charles

I just went through this about 2 weeks ago. My RCA remote (CRK39K
a.k.a 173916) was dropped and stopped working. It had the same
ceramic resonator. My resonator 1422 271-4 was made by Murata. Even
after 26 years, they won't disclose any information about the
resonator due to an NDA... Anyway, I found a schematic for my TV
which also lists the remote control parts. It clearly states that the
part is a "crystal", mfgr part number 151804, and that the frequency
is 455KHz.

I bought a Murata CSBLA455KJ58-B0 from Mouser for $0.81 plus
shipping. Note: I splurged on the sealed/washable version. The
non-washable version is p/n CSBLA455KEC8-B0 and is $0.56. Digikey has
the "E" verson for $0.61. If you really want an exact replacement,
you can get the 151804 from VanceBaldwin.com for $5.90 plus shipping.
(Do a search for part number 271-4).

The leads don't quite extend past the circuit board with the resonator
laying down on the foam pad, but you can still get good quality solder
joints. My remote is back together and working great!

Good luck!

Thanks, I had concluded that it was a 455KHz resonator and have just ordered
one from DigiKey.

Thanks,
Charles
