Electronics Stores in Canada

Hi Guys,

Can anyone recommend a good store, or on-line that supplies electronic components in Canada? There are a couple here in Ottawa, but asking for a PIC16F84 gets blank stares and then once they look it up, 4-6 week shipping delays.

Regards,
John

I live in Western Canada and get a lot of blank stares also when looking
for semiconductors.

I have some suggestions.

Active Components has stores across Canada. They stock some PIC Parts.

Try www.hvwtech.com.
They are in Calgary, cater to robotics enthusiasts and sell PIC chips.

There is a company in Mn, USA called Digi-Key, www.digikey.com
They have prices in Canadian dollars including duty.
I have ordered from them several times and get my parts the next day!
Shipping is by Purolator air at a cost of $8.00 (Canadian).
They stock PIC chips among a million other parts.

I'm sure there's lots of distributors in Toronto that stock PIC chips also.

It may be worthwhile checking out www.microchip.com and scan their list of
distributors.

Hope this helps.

Hi Strill,

Thanks for the info! Active here in Ottawa was one of the blank look
companies unfortunately..... I will follow up on your other suggestions
though. I will check out DigiKey now. I appreciate your assistance and
time to reply to my post.

Regards,
John
