Oh dear, it must be getting tense up there on Summer Hill.
Have you seen the realestate shows and papers recently, they all recon
Summer Hill is the next boom suburb in Sydney!
Now is the time for Phil to sell his toaster collection to pay for a
deposit on that dream unit!

Dave,

You have to remember that if Phil can't buy it locally (within a train or
bus ride in Sydney) he'll have to toddle down to the Post Office and get an
Australian money order to pay for it.
Wow, a money order, that brings back memories...
I think the last time I got one of those was to pay for a subscription
to ETI magazine, I think I was about 12-13yo at the time. At the time
they offered a free CD cleaning cloth and you went into a draw to win
a Philips 50MHz CRO. I never did win that that CRO :-(, but I did get
my free Philips brand cleaning cloth.

You are all class Phil. No wonder you have so many friends.

** You missed the obvious irony - fool.

YOU are calling Bob Parker a retard.

Cos he spent an hour and found none in Australia.

OTOH - I spent nothing like that time.

I will make one or two phone calls to hobby suppliers tomorrow.

No need to order overseas for such a basic item.

Dave.
While on the topic of toaster collecting, there was a bloke on the
"collectors" or some such TV program a couple of months back with a
toaster collection, who actually used to be a toaster repairman yonks
ago. He got most of them by managing to keep a heap of the broken
ones that customers left with him when at the time they werent worth
fixing and he never tossed them out. (I assume he has since restored
them where practical) Some of his vintage toasters were worth a
considerable amount too, but many early ones were bloody lethal with
totally exposed and unprotected heating coils in some cases.

Well if it was so bloody easy, why did you bother posting here in the first
place you moronic pea brain?

Your OP and your subsequent responses show the typical work of a true Usenet
TROLL.

But then again, one can't expect much better from a Marist Brothers'
education, can one?

Hey Philthy!

What would you want a battery holder that holds 8 AA cells for?
It's not that you can run a toaster of them - right?
Couldn't be anything more complicated - that would have to be beyond your
capability - correct?

Well, as a guess and knowing the little pervert, I would say it will then
be covered with ribbed latex or silicone and coloured pink or black.

Cheers TT :))

Phil's run out of his meds.
He would rather cut his nose of to spite his face. Hang on, that would be
an improvement.
What else would you expect from someone who was raised by dingoes?!

Philthy hasn't run out of meds - they just don't make any strong enough!

Hi all,

tried all the usual suspects and can't seem to find ANYONE with a battery

Am after the long style with terminals for a 9 volt snap on top.

The same ones that go inside RC radio transmitters.

I put a photo of it at http://members.ozemail.com.au/~bobpar/8aa.jpg
Is that the layout you need? If you're after two long rows of 4 AA
cells with a '9V snap' on the end, I couldn't find any mention of them
anywhere.

** Bollocks.

Not if there was a local electronics dealer or store with the item - bound
to be far cheaper than a hobby shop.

Remember, DSE and others use to have them as regular line.

BTW

Picked up two yesterday.

Never knew they existed till I made a couple of phone calls - it's a fairly

The price was a bit rude, though.
