Slow as all fuck, makes a lot of noise. A similarly set up Corolla
would kick it\'s arse. That\'s why nobody uses Commodores for rally
cars. Not suited to the task. And I own a SS V Sportswagon, so I\'m not
anti V8 or Holden.

LOL :)

All Aussie V8 is the best sounding V8 bar none.

You were until you got one.

Yes the 5 litre sounded best, but unfortunately the power/weight ratio was not
so impressive

It was pretty good in the Formula 5000 format!

I grew up over the road from a F5000 car, the sound of it being tuned
was glorious!

Cheers,

Yeah. That\'s why Commodores were such an in demand platform for
rallys.

I always thought Clevos generally sounded better.

Yeah. That\'s why Commodores were such an in demand platform for
rallys.

** Whether a Commodore makes an outright good rally car is utterly irrelevant.

Car racing is all about classes with many rules and restrictions - the event
allowed V8 sedans with rear well drive to compete and that is what you see.

Besides the wonderful noise, the fearless young Aussie at the wheel is driving that arse of that thing.

You mean that there is a dickhead behind the wheel?

**Nope. That 6.2 Litre AMG Benz is the one to beat. Absolutely glorious
in full song. I\'ve heard them many times (my next door neighbour has
one), but only once driven hard.

WOW!

I heard a replica Cobra rumble past me down in Bowral awhile back. Nice.
I like the way the ground shook beneath my feet.

Certainly. I\'m only talking about the noise it made, everything else was
rather disappointing.

Full song bah humbug. The Aussie V8 sounded best down low where it
counts. Those screaming things all sound alike.

Yep. Apparently that fact is lost on the dick with two heads but no brain.

Besides the wonderful noise, the fearless young Aussie at the wheel is driving that arse of that thing.

Seems to be doing OK, putting on a show and sounds good doing it.

Yep, screamers sound like crap, the high RPMs get rid of that deep
burble in the exhaust.

Yes, have you heard a 308? That low burble is unmistakable and beautiful.
