It could be that this problem started occuring when I resetted the date/time to somewhere in 2004.

Maybe that tripped up this WGA thing... but probably not... it has probably been occuring since before that by a couple of days, but my memory is not sure on this.

I did find this key entry in regedit:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows NT\\CurrentVersion\\Windows Activation Technologies

Perhaps some of these keys become confused/corrupted because of the reset to 2004.

Before Windows 7 even existed ?!

Interesting hypothesis !

This resetting of date/time can occur on genuine windows installations because of empty BIOS battery !

This is something Microsoft should check !

A RANDOM PROCESS ON THE MICROSOFT ACTIVATION SERVER, SELECTING RANDOM USERS AND CONVINCING THEM THEIR LICENSE IS EXPIRED TO SQUEEZE MORE MONEY OUT OF THEM AND PURSUAING THEM TO BUY A NEW LICENSE.

NOW THAT THE WINDOWS 7 USER GROUP IS VERY SMALL, THIS LAPTOP HAS FINALLY BEEN HIT BY THIS RANDOM SELECTION PROCESS.

there. Getting the rest of the way there would require using another

Since I haven\'t looked at your video I don\'t know which \"this SCREEN\"
you are referring to. If it\'s part of the Windows system-administration
UI or control panel, then it\'s likely that this particular screen is
_supposed_ to show that sort of information, because its job is to help
a capable system adminstrator manage the system. There has to be at
least one such UI available, for an administrator to know just what
ID was used to activate a system\'s Windows installation in the first
place.

Seems entirely likely. If the ID shown on that screen is the same one
as on the \"product key\" sticker, then yes, anyone who saw it would
then have the same information you had when you activated the machine
in the first place.

suspect, I\'d have to categorize it as an entirely self-inflicted

There is absolutely no reason what so ever to display this product key in which is called: \"my computer\" and showing \"hardware capabilities\".

This problem was caused by windows update KB 971033 installed in 2014.

It installs 4 files in c:\\windows\\system32\\wat

npWatWeb.dll
WatAdminSvc.exe
WatUX.exe
WatWeb.dll

It adds 2 validation tasks to task schedular.

If the system date/time is changed to 2004 or something like that it causes a bug where these validation tasks start running one day before the date/time is re-synched to now.

One of these validation tasks will run approx each 6 hours which causes this annoying nag screen to pop-up.

This problem/bug can be solved by uninstalled windows update KB 971033

This is further evidence windows updates can cause system problems: Bug ? Or sabotage ? I will let you decide on that.
