Hi,
I'm thinking of taking my Onkyo receiver to Japan, and I'm wondering if
anyone knows how the different electricity will affect it. It's
designed to work with 120V 60Hz, and in Tokyo they use 100V 50Hz. I've
heard that some transformers may saturate if used at a lower frequency,
and that they may also overheat if used at a lower voltage.
Does anyone know anything about the transformers used in Onkyo
receivers, and whether they would have these problems? Or even in
general whether the small voltage difference or frequency difference
would cause problems for a receiver?
Thanks for any info you can give me!
