Hi, I'm trying to repair a Samtron 45bn monitor. The monitor will
power up for half a second and then it just goes off (dead). I've been
scratching my head with this fault for quite some time and would
appreciate if anyone could guide me on this. Thanks and appreciate it
very much!

There may be a short or failure in one of the scan circuits or the HV
area. It is very common to have a defective horiz output transistor, or
the flyback going defective to cause this. You will have to logically
track down where the failure is. Start by verifying all the power
supply output voltages, and the supply voltages at the scan and HV
areas first. If these are okay, then verify if there are drive pulses to
the scan circuits. If the voltages are missing, then there may be a
short, or a failure in the supply or along the way to the required
location.
