At certian resolutions and refresh rates ( anything above 1024x768 and 75hz
or above) the monitor displays a 'rippling' like waves on the edges of the
screen. sometimes it stays still, most of the time it it moves up and down
rapidly. It is very annoying. And was wondering what might cause this? and
is there an easy fix or do I have to send it in for warrantly repair?

My guess is high esr electrolytic caps in B+ supply to the HOT, so at higher
loads ripple is affecting the scan. It's quite easy to diagnose and repair.
The only thing is when one cap goes bad, the rest sometimes follow, so it
might be wise to re-cap the entire PSU.
