Flyguy seems to exists to draw attention to Donald Trump\'s sillier ideas.

He seems more likely to be an artificial intelligence machine rather than anybody real - nobody real could be quite that stupid, and the idea that he owns a plane and is allowed to fly it is remarkably implausible.

His responses will be based all the responses posted here over the years, which does explain the similarities to John Larkin, who is probably still the person who has posted ore stuff here than anybody else.

Artificial intelligence programs have got pretty good at producing superficially plausible responses, and that what Flyguy does.

Flyguy is a regular troll - or at least a persistent one - just like John Doe, but my suspicion is that he isn\'t actually anybody but rather a program designed to create a particular effect on the electorate. Even if there is a real - if remarkably stupid - person behind the nym, Flyguy would be their label as opposed to any kind of name or identification. It\'s more a badge of shame - like \"John Doe\" - used by somebody who is too ashamed of their opinions to accept any kind of personal responsibility for them.

You can\'t actually troll a troll, which makes you and Flyguy fair game. You may resent this but you are a troll, and nobody could care less about your opinion.

If my brain had degenerated enough to share John Larkin\'s enthusiasm for right-wing propaganda aimed at gullible twits, he wouldn\'t see this as a problem.

> It\'s better for everyone to just ignore him.

John Larkin ignores everything that conflicts with is preferred delusions. It\'s not an approach that anybody sane would recommend.

> Discuss electronics instead of clucking like old hens.

Not something that John Larkin can manage. He tells us about stuff he has done from time to time, but discussions how he might have done it better don\'t interest him at all. Mention a special purpose transformer, and he will deliver his pre-programed spiel about how difficult it is to get them wound and how you can use stuff that you can - sometimes - buy off the shelf that was designed for some other application. That does sound very like an old hen clucking.

You are annoying me by misundertanding what the \"facts\" you present mean. Since you don\'t know what you are talking about, this objection flies over your head.

Neither can you, but you mistakenly think you can, which does generate quite a bit of friction.

I may annoy you - that is an incidental effect of trying to educate you - but I don\'t annoy all that many other people. Quite how you contrive to have sexual relations with your computer escapes me - mine isn\'t equipped to deliver that kind of service, and I wasn\'t aware that you could buy that sort of equipment.

Don\'t bother telling us what you have bought, and where you bought it - it would get wiped off the website as pornographic spam.

I rather doubt that you are an actual person. Trolls - such as you - are fair game anyway.

Posting steaming heaps of pro-Trump election propaganda is definitely troll-like behavior, as is making stupid claims about my personal life.

Regular participants of this user group have long been rude about other user\'s behaviour - I seem to have been posting here since 1998, and it has been going on ever since then. Some of the people who do it, or did it - Jim Thompson does come to mind - might qualify as trolls, but didn\'t get identified as such.

He was an identifiable real person - not anonymous - which let him off the troll hook, to some extent.

You obviously aren\'t a pilot, so commenting about them is totally out of your league. I suggest that you research what it takes to become a certified private pilot and what it takes to maintain that certification.

You have to fly a certain number of hours per year. This is what makes me sceptical about your claim. If you made the same kind of idiotic mistakes while flying as you make in your posts, as frequently as you make them in your posts, you\'d have long since flown your plane into the ground.

Light aviation offers lots of chances to make life-ending mistakes, and you do seem enthusiastic about making them.

I\'m already in the enlightened phase - not enlightened enough to start a religion, but tolerably well-informed. Sadly, Flyguy thinks that he too is enlightened, but his \"enlightenment\" is delivered by right-wing propaganda web-sites, who peddle misconceptions and misapprehensions, which Flyguy is too dim to recognise as such.

He\'s much too far up himself to believe other people when they tell him he is being suckered, and does resent the advice.

I have wondered about this point after reading a number of FG\'s posts. At one point, I worked in this area and was aware of a technique of human-guided tuning of AI systems. The style, content and phrasing of the postings suggest this. (It could also be indicative of someone who mindlessly just likes to keep echoing the party line)

As usual Flyguy gets it wrong. Flyguy himself wouldn\'t be the product of artificial intelligence - the remarkably stupid posts that are designed to look as if they were produced by an idiot named Flyguy would be that product.

I\'m merely the product of evolution, which hasn\'t got any intelligence at all. What we are discussing is what gets posted here, and Flyguy - if he exists - doesn\'t seem to recognise the stupidity of the posts that are supposed to come from him. His claims about the performance of other posters reflects the same problem.
