Main thing is to keep this garbage coming from China the hell out of this country. Of course it takes the government forever to create regulations that actually work. The pharmaceutical industry is criminally irresponsible for creating its dependence on China. These people are predisposed to cheat in every single thing they do, even when it\'s unimaginably unnecessary.

Oh it\'s got the American flag on it, must be legit.

Lol, no, can\'t do that, now. That wouldn\'t be business-friendly.
Un-American, really. Probably communist.

It may be patriotism for the lower elements of society but that\'s not the case for people who know better. China is ruthless in their use of slave labor and total disregard for the environment. Buy their products and you fund the perpetuation of these atrocities.

I\'m a pretty low-grade consumer in the scheme of American society. I
like electronics and software and problems to solve I don\'t have much
interest in conventional trappings-of-success.

Unfortunately America seemed to stop producing a lot of ICs and
electronics components domestically around the time I was learning to
tie my shoes.

America has more people in prison than China with a quarter the
population and on average they\'re probably treated somewhat better. But
it\'s only somewhat better definitely not ten times better. And there are
some federal prisons in the US that are every bit as bad as China,
you\'ll find them in places like South Carolina, and Jesup, Georgia.

LOL- you can\'t be serious. Do you know why it appears like U.S. has more people in prison than China? Because China executes a LOT of people, they never make it to prison. China kills tens of thousands of people annually. If the prisoners are treated better it\'s probably because they\'re being fattened up for a life ending organ donation.

Amnesty International, huh. Be about the first time Americans generally
believed Amnesty International\'s figures on anything. Countries the US
government does weapons deals with get those reports filed away in the
\"Just a lot of leftist propaganda\" section, China ain\'t one of them though.

Yeah in Communist China they at least make a death sentence official. In
the US prisoners only die of \"natural causes.\" Well what isn\'t \"natural\"
if you think about it.

Americans are definitely free to stop buying products made in China at
any time, I\'m not going to personally insist they do. Probably be for
the best. I\'m all for fining companies that sell Chinese made goods
under an American-made label. Fine \'em into the ground for all I care.

However I don\'t see it happening any time soon...

The patriotism stuff? Yeah I tend to be pretty skeptical of
Bible-beaters and flag-wavers. Anyone can throw a flag up on their door
and go on about what a great patriot they are, I support police, a bla
bla bla.

Oh shit the blacks set a Wendy\'s on fire so I\'m gonna run around with my
guns and be a big patriot and say I\'m gonna do this and that. Because
that\'s what patriotism is, defending a fuckin\' Wendys and some stolen
Wal-Mart TVs.

But I\'m a New Englander and my family has been here for the better part
of 400 years. A lot of you kind of seem like immigrants to me.

Couldn\'t tell you what fighting for some building has to do with
patriotism. Show me an American who shoots the first man who comes
around asking for his papers and I\'ll show you a patriot. Here are my
papers....bitch!!!!

Could be both. Pointing out that our resident \"conservatives\" are a bunch of gullible twits who will believe anything that has been designed to press their buttons may look like trolling, but it is also a necessary public service.

My late father was a WWII combat veteran in the European theater, aside
from the occasional ability to mutter platitudes like \"thank you for
your service!\" does one believe Americans universally treated him \"good\"
having that knowledge, or always regarded him as some fashion of hero or
patriot for having fought for his country?

Hmm, no it wasn\'t always that way. Quite a number told him he was a
fool, jackass, and sucker for doing that, quite a bit once upon a time
when the Soviets had several megatons in Cuba staring down Boston and
NYC. Was anyone in his office in Boston patting him on the back saying
\"Thank you for your service!\" at that point? Nah, not so much.

The new stupidity is Americans thinking they can be rebels and patriots
at the same time. \"fuck your feelings\" t-shirts, biker-style and tons of
tattoos, bunch of guys all looking like they stepped out of the Federal
pen last Thursday and simultaneously \"supporting police\" and acting like
they\'re the most upstanding citizens there ever were. You can even see
cops wearing goofy tattoos nowadays, probably pissed their Mom off good.

Yeah, a bunch of police-loving patriot outlaws, that makes sense. No it
doesn\'t it\'s dumb there\'s only logic to it to wanna-be Gestapo thugs, a
good fraction of them former criminals and drug-pushers themselves.

But Americans are fickle and I predict this style will get old faster
than the time the WWF brought the Undertaker back as the \"American Bad
Ass\" and had him come in on a Harley instead of claw his way out of a tomb.
