Can anyone figure out why this noise is getting into Vline,

I still don\'t really have an answer to this, BTW - though folk
suggested various ways to fix it. The effect in the original
circuit seems disproportionate.

Another thought occurred, but I don\'t know where to get a model I
can rely on to simulate it:

Why not use a three-terminal regulator as the active element in a
gyrator? Just stand the earthy side on a resistor, biassed with a
resistor from the input to swamp quiescent currents, and feed a
capacitor back to that point from the output.

Would you expect that to work, or oscillate?
Where can I find a solid Spice model for e.g. a 7805?

Clifford Heath

Lots of examples in google. Try LM7805

Better:

You reckon that some random search that turns up a model for a device
meant to work as a regulator will work ok for simulating it in a
completely different mode of operation? Ok, maybe it will... but you
have more trust than I do.

You asked for a solid spice model for a 7805. I gave you one.

The Yahoo LTspice group has been active for many years. It was
transferred to groups.io when Yahoo decided to terminate the forums.

Helmut has run the group since inception. He is a very experienced
designer for LTspice models. You will find it very hard to find flaws in
his work.

In addition, Andy, analogspiceman and Bordodynov are also very skilled
experts in LTspice. You can learn a great deal from their work.

You can find their posts in groups.io

There are others active in the group but I don\'t remember their names.
You often have to be real careful with any models they may post.

You can often compare the performance of models from all four creators.

In most cases the differences betwen them are negligible. Where there
are differences, it may be due to optimization for different
applications.

Search all_files_z_yahoo.htm for any models you need. You will have to
log in, which means you have to create an account. There are plenty of
worse things you could do with your life.

I have been using LTspice for many, many years. I am not an expert, but
I do know where to find them.
