I finally found the internal focus control in my MGC 15 inch monitor.
I had to take off the back cover. On the main printed circuit board
in the left rear corner (screen facing you)there is black module which
is the high voltage transformer. On the side of it are two controls
you can adjust with a philips screw driver. The top one is labeled
FOCUS and I was able to improve the focus a little by adjusting it.
Not quite perfect, but better. The monitor is 5-6 years old so thats
all I expected. The other is labeled SCREEN and seems to control
overall brightness. It seemed to be set right so I left it set where
it was.

As the tube ages, the focus will get softer, and it will be impossible
to adjust the focus to be absolutely sharp.
