Faulty NEC Plasmasync 50MP1

Hello,

I have an NEC Plasmasync 50MP1 which gives no picture other than a
dark grey hue and a few crackles of the odd pixel when first fired up.

The self test works fine, all fans stay on and the unit appears
active!, also if i press the "input select" button the screen flickers
off and on a few times, but no picture whatsoever - there isn't even
an on-screen display!

I've tried composite, rgb and dvi inputs all to no avail... any ideas?
