You will need.

Some Butter.
Cloves of garlic.
Ground black pepper.
Two Chicken breasts.
A bit of Brie.
One tin of Campbells Classic Chicken Soup.
Half a pint of single cream.
A frying pan which is big enough.
A lid might help.
A nice big sharp knife.
A wooden stirring thing.
One Sober person.

Stick some butter into the frying pan.

With an appropriate amount of hate for French people. Be aware that they
gave us Edith Piaff but the Americans gave us Roy Orbison.

Hit the garlic flat with the flat of the knife so you can get the skin off.
Then chop it up a bit and stick it in the frying pan.

Grind some black pepper on top of it and stick it on the gas. Adjust the
flame according to something or another. Things sort of melt and go sizzle.

Whilst they are... cut the chicken breasts up into chunky pieces. Slice up
the Brie.

Open tin of Cambells Classic Chicken Soup.

Stick the chunky pieces in the frying pan.

Adjust the flame and stir things about with the wooden stirring thing. Stick
the lid on, take the lid off. Adjust the flame again. Use the wooden thing
every so often. Practice.

In between add the Brie. (Arse, it's some French Cheese made in Yorkshire)
It should melt too.

When you think it's right.

Turn gas down.

Add contents of Campbells tin.... swear a lot and shake vigorously. Swear
some more and shake harder. Got there.... use finger to transfer leftovers
to gob, yum.

Add half pint of single cream to frying pan.

Mix resulting goo carefully with wooden thing, it slops out of the pan if
you do it vigorously.

Set gas to minimum reliable flame. Stick on lid. Leave to do its stuff...
but keep going back to check and give it a stir.

When done, give to Sober person.

Actually the chicken done in butter garlic and black pepper was nice, just
one piece. I don't know about the other stuff.

Sounds nice; maybe I'll try it if ever I cook again.

Say, can you get Paul Prudhomme's Redfish Blackening Magic stuff?
Slather anything in butter (any firm fish... catfish is good, chicken,
whatever) dust with The Stuff and blast in a very hot skillet. I like
to throw in some thick onion slices and nuke them on the side, too.

After he invented Blackened Redfish, the ugly critters went from trash
fish to endangered species.

Anybody who can't find it, let me know and I'll send some.

Don't they come in ring-pull cans?

I've been wondering what the heck "Campbell's Classic Chicken Soup"
really is - Chicken noodle? Chicken rice? Chicken gumbo? Cream of
Chicken? (CofC would be my choice for this sort of thing.)

Or maybe "Classic" just means "Needs old-style can opener". ;-)

Cheers!
