changing firmware in a Tv?

I am interested in a 20 inch TV with 3 AV inputs. Other than Sony, no one
seems to offer this. I can't use Sony because the remote would conflict
with another device.

I like Toshiba and JVC. Both have 3 Av inputs but you can not change the on
screen prompts from INPUT 1 to something that makes sense such as: DVD,
Satellite, GAME

Can you read the firmware, change it using hex workshop and flash it back?
Do these machines support JTAG?

Is there a TV that already supports 3 AV plus the ability to change the
onscreen prompts?

Thanks for the reply. I checked out the panasonic web page. None of the 20
inch TVs have both 3 AV inputs and Video Input Labeling.

27 inch and above have the input labeling.

Panasonics do. Besides, they're also very good quality TVs.

I doubt it, as TVs tend to have mask programmed controllers.
They may also be CRC checked, mening it will fail to work if you
change it.

the last byte in the dump is usually the CRC. you can repair the crc by
pading unused space to make the crc check match.
