You HAVE to be joking ! Biggest POS ever. Or is that MacAfee ?

My point exactly. AVG is free and its good

**** WAS **** at version 7.5x.

Yesterday I spent no less then THREE hours removing the damage AVG8 had
done to my neighbour's PCs.

And there's STILL MORE to do.

AVG fucked up royally.

Like I said, if you dont like it go buy Norton. I use AVG 8 and I have
no problem. I turned off link scanner.

Can you remind me how that's done ?
Go into the AVG overview tab and disable search shield.

p.s. the neighbour once HAD Norton and it made his Dell Dimension 2400 run
like a slug on Mogadon.

Of course shipping XP boxes with 256M of RAM isn't very clever but it has
512M now.

I removed AVG V8 and reloaded it without the website scanner.
Now my DL/UL speeds are back to normal.

Why not just disable the scanner from within the AVG program?
Lol, that would be common sense. But lest just whinge about a free
program, thats more fun.
