One used book store here had a stack of old magazines, from the forties
through the seventies. I got a bunch of Popular Science, most of the
electronic magazines in the collection were ones I had, some Mechanix
Illustrated and I cant' remember what else. I got a good selection, some
from WWII era, and later ones that were about finding the USS Thresher and
then later the USS Scorpion.
But some of them still had the cards in them, an oddity since I always
tore them out as soon as I got the magazines home. Those correspondence
courses must have been a strong source of income for the magazines. If
you go back far enough, there were correspondence courses for everything,
that locksmith course even came with a "fee" key cutting tool.
I would have thought most of them had faded by 2004.
