12v CD/Radio problems.....anyone help please?

I've just finished fitting a 12v (car) CD/Radio in my camper trailer,
which has a deep cycle onboard 12v battery and automatic battery
charger. The radio makes a 'clicking' sound at times, although it's not
regular...would this be caused by the battery charger? and would an
inline filter help? If not what other remedies would you suggest?

Another problem is the CD unit itself....when I insert a CD it will only
turn approx 6mm wait a little while (prob milliseconds) then turn
another 6mm...it repeats this process about 5-6 times before the CD
ejects with an error2 message in the LCD. Any suggestions please?

I'm about to fit a flexi car antenna to the outside of the camper but
have been told it will work Ok in the cupboard.....then someone else
said this will need to be hard-mounted to stop the abovementioned
'clicking' noise in the radio. I would really appreciate some help to
get this up and running as it should. Of course the in-cupboard position
works well at home becasue there is a good signal, but what about in
fringe areas? Many thanks, HC

A inline Filter may help.
If you unplug the Charger, does the click go away? If so, the charger is the
problem.

Is the noise is also on the radio AND disapears when you unplug the
Anttenna?
The the inline filter will not fully get rid of the noise.
(You will have to stop it at the source ie the Noise is being picked up from
the unit and not transferred through the power cable.)

Was there any Transport Screws in the deck, these are normally RED and have
to be removed before installation? other wise, the unit is faulty..

It will work a lot better outside...

Hope this helps you,
Allan
