i am tring to get a wireless doorbell to light a dc powered light
instead of sound a bell. I have tried removing the chime and adding a
light buut to no avail. I'm wondering is it because the light is
polarized whereas the bell is not? Does someone have an idea about how
to make this thing work.
Also the bell itself has a push button conatct switch, I would like to
remove that from the circuit board ad attach a spst swicth?

The light will not illuminate unless you have selected it for the rated
voltage of the door bell. Normally, door bells opeate at 24 volts
(step down transformer from 110 to 24 Volts AC. So go buy yourself a
lamp that operates at 24 volts, not one that operates at 110 Volts.
That should do it,

Tom
