You mean there was a time Wiki didn't exist to help kiddies plagiaries?

Well, back in my day I plagiarised from library books... but just to
be clear, I was referring to this: http://www.archive.org/web/web.php

Way back in the 60s I looked over shoulders, easier than going to the
library. I don't actually remember seeing a library in my hamlet.

Hamlet is normally in the library not the other way around Smile

So you learned to lift other people's references from paper books,
before you extended the practice to Wikipedia, eh? ;-)

Nothing wrong with the practice. But attribution is the all-important
thing, together with not pretending you've actually read them when you
haven't. ;-)

So long as you attributed stuff, what was the problem?

How do you use something in an essay if you haven't read it?

You're getting very confused again

Of course, we used to do that as well if possible. In years 11 and 12,
a group of us (trusted and proven to be competent!) used to split up
the workload between ourselves, which we would do and distribute the
results to each other. The next step of course was to re-write it in
your own style, with other crap thrown in so as not to alert the
teacher. Worked for us.
