What is the most preferred schematic capture software used by
Engineers?
Or at least, what is the most popular amongst those in this newsgroup?
Is there a standardized file format that can be read by other
packages? ie Altium?

Personally, I use KiCAD (http://www.lis.inpg.fr/realise_au_lis/kicad/)
full featured & free (as in beer) but then I only use it for hobby
purposes...

Standardised file formats? [cue insane laughter]
