Several dogs, over the years and one sorry cat.
This was my favorite and probably the last, but she died around
Thanksgiving time last year. :(

She might have been purebred with papers, but she was a fun loving
dog. In spite of health problems she was usually active and loved to
play. The rest of the time she would lay at your feet, or sit on the
porch and enjoy the warm Florida sun.
R.I.P., Maggie. :)

Two dogs, male litter mates, found abandoned down at the barn one
morning in Joelton, Tennessee. About six weeks old and cute as
buttons. Me, "Hunny, can we keep 'em?"
And lotsa guppies.
We need a barn cat to keep the vermin down.
This group needs a 'big' barn cat to keep the trolls down. ;-)

Two cats, Louis (Main Coon, black and white, and dumber than a rock) and
Thunder (all black American patio cat, SWMBO's familiar). Would have a dog,
but cats can be left for a weekend without problems.
Why not talk to them? They talk to us.

Who can neglect a cute furry critter that cries like a baby.
Makes one wonder if cats evolved to take advantage of people.
The better the baby cry, the more those type of cats carried on.
Cats are like pilot fish that accompany sharks. The pilot fish gets food
and protection and the shark gets parasites eaten.
With cats, they get protection and food and people get this pampered
furball that sleeps all the time and sometimes shows something that
looks like love. I think the shark gets a better deal.
iirc ...there's a bit on wiki where a kitten was found buried with a
9500 year old body.

Dogs tend to be a lot more "talkative" in trying to get attention than cats,
in my experience!
Although dogs are generally more trainable...

All pets provide a certain entertainment value as well.

I have two dogs. Yes I do, I say all the things to my dogs that I
wish I could say to my kids like
"Hey, move your big butt out of my way" I tell the kids to not defend
the dogs because if the dogs don't get the abuse then the kids will.
My oldest doghas been with us for about 7 years. He is about 12 years
old and every six months we think he is going to die. But his former
life sucked so bad we joke that he is never going to let go of his
life with us. Just a few weeks ago his eyes were throbbing in and out
and he lost all his coordination. I thought for sure we were going to
be putting him down, but he came through like he always does to eat
more lunch meat and steak trimmings.

Probably a reincarnated "tech" that can see into your sub-human mind.
Parrots commonly pick one person in their household to be their enemy.
They seem to need some drama in their lives. You have picked every retard
in this group to be your enemy.

Like parrots, he needs *someone* to talk to (at?).
And, also like parrots, usually doesn't say much worth
listening to.
As opposed to a stupid bastard like you, that never says anything worth
anything, much less worth listening to.

Nice shot. Got that evil-eye flash look going on too. I love it!
Shiz-zoos (I don't know how to spell it) are great dogs, but I hear
their teeth fall out...(?)
I've got the new dachshund's name picked out: "Harley".
Runners-up were: Cornbread, Lugnut, and Dexter.
If I lived in Texas, I would surely visit:
www.dachshundduderanch.com
I have some travel coming up, so I must wait until I return.
Going to get another black-and-tan (maybe black-and-cream) short hair,
male of course.
Doesn't have to be pedigree. Herbie was pedigree and it all went to
his head...!!
His pic is the last of about 30 images on my photo site:

I like animals. I've had cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, doves and
other birds, etc., and my wife has a pig (in addition to me

).
But most of all, I love dogs. I have two of them now and we talk
a lot. One is 9 years, named 'Buizova' after a famous poet of my
tribe. The other was a ngihbour's but he decided to move in
permanently with us 3.5 years ago. My daughter named him 'Archie'
after the comic book character.
My nym here {Pimpom) is the name of one of my favourites who
adopted us 8 years ago. He was apparently separated from his
owners (he had a nice collar). I named him after a lollipop that
was popular at the time. When I lost him after 3 years, there was
some evidence that he was stolen by dog meat eaters (yuck). My
other favourite was Pimpom's grandson, named P.J. for "Pimpom
Junior". He died of cancer at the age of 4.

I have a dog named "Sir" Muttley, and he has his own domain and website:
www.muttleydog.com
I talk to him almost as I would with a human, and he communicates using his
own body language.
When I first acquired him as a rescue, I also had a cat named Photon, who
had been with me since the year 2000 when I got her and her brother "Meson".
She ran him off one night, and again a bit later. Unfortunately she was
mostly an outdoor cat and she was hit by a car on October 23, 2006.
In 2007 I had another rescued dog, Lucky, and she was incredibly sweet,
especially considering she was a probable Rottie/PBT mix and found
undernourished and full of ticks in her matted fur, and she had probably
been abused. I had to keep her and Muttley separated most of the time, and I
rehomed her through a local rescue.
There are pictures of her on
