Hi All , I don't know if I post to the right group but here it goes... Kay
Elemetrics used to make step attenuators in 50, 75 and 90 Ohms years ago.
The 2 first type usage is obvious but the 90 ohms units is not too clear. I
have one of these but really don't know what they were used for. The only
actual use for 90 Ohms coax is in computer networking (that I know of) but
these attenuators were made in the 50's and early 60's so their usage in
networking is questionable since computers were not really in use yet. The
input and output connectors are BNC female jacks.. RF, audio, ultrasound or
what? Anybody has ideas about it since Google is of no use on this one?
Thanks for your thoughts.

sci.electronics.components would have been more apt.

Due to a pandering, posturing politician

the alt.* hierarchy has been blocked by many providers.
....where Usenet hasn't been *completely* blocked.

They are *all* obvious:

You use the one appropriate for the system.

....or anything else where the designer specified that impedence

for the transmission line.

Well...
