Hey guys, my name is Ed and I am an engineering student like yourselves, currently pursuing a Ph.D ... I wanted to let you know about an iPad app I developed over the past year available on the iTunes store.

Spicy Schematics is currently the only ipad application that offers circuit schematics and real spice simulation capability. You can check it out here [http://ischematics.com]. Use Spicy for iPad when you are on the go to sketch out ideas, simulate, and even send your netlist to yourself to work on later in Cadence! Since you have the capability to use subcircuit parts, you can upload complex subcircuit models and extend the complexity of your circuits .. you are virtually unlimited in terms of what you can do!

Spicy version 2.0 is the latest version and is packed with powerful features. You can upload your own models using the free Spicy Model Upload Service (http://ischematics.com/nUploadSpice.html), and models are ready to use immediately. There are tutorial videos posted on my youtube channel here [http://www.youtube.com/user/ischematics], so you can see how it works.

In addition, I created an Online Circuit Library where you can upload and store your circuits, or share them with others on your team, with a password protect option. This is a great resource and can be a great way to share and backup circuits. You can also export your circuit via email as a backup or to share, and you (or others you email to) can import those circuits. All circuit data is encrypted, so you don't need to worry about sharing your work with those you dont want to.

Spicy has been downloaded all over the world, and is the only app of its kind that can do what it does. Download the free version and try it out. [The current free version does not allow saving files or netlisting/simulation, but Spicy Free v 2.0 is coming within a week or so which will allow this]

Note that Spicy supports: MOS1, MOS2, MOS3, MOS6, MOS9, BSIM1, BSIM2, BSIM3v0, BSIM3v1, BSIM3v32, BSIM4, BSIM4v2, BSIM4v3, BSIM4v4. B4SOI fet models.

Also, guess what? there is also a simple iphone text-based spice simulator coming soon, check it out and stay tuned!

Hey Ed!

Have you ever noticed that "damn" and "spam" rhyme?

Why do all sales pitches start with "Hi, my name is XXX..."?

My brain has a reflex action to switch channels as soon
as I hear it.

Because they ask the question "who would be dumb enough to pay money for
the @#$% we're trying to sell?", and the answer is "someone who thinks
that a post that starts with 'Hi, my name is Ed' means that it's actually
posted by a 3rd party, and not some slimeball spammer".

It's like all idiot sales calls start with "How are you today?"

I don't hold anything back. They usually hang up before I finish
listing everything that's bugging me. :)

OTOH, I enjoy telling of campaign workers, who call to push their dog
in the election.
