i'm trying to fix a laptop that let the magic smoke out when a loose screw
in the case shorted something out.

it's an Acer Aspire 1350, model # MS2159... if that's any use,

the blown chip is an 8 pin surface mount, (U43 on the board) it's mounted
right after the DC input connector from the + terminal,
i can make out 4407 clearly, and then all i can see is 1H, the rest is
obliterated,

looking on the board, near the battery are a couple more ic's with 4407 top
numbers, and they go BD411H,

i have been trying to search for this ic, but cant seem to find all the
numbers to match, i assume it's a power regulator chip or something like
that,
i'm in the UK, so have tried RS and maplins, the latter are useless, just a
toy shop now it seems,
RS list some similar, but i cant be sure it's the right thing, and the one
that was closest mentioned a 5 volt max input, the laptop has 19 volts from
the psu to that connector, which goes straight to the ic.

anyone got any ideas what i can use to replace this ic?
